"I had a great experience at chong yuen fong. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service was attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. I especially enjoyed the claypot with brisket and chinese sausage, which was full of flavor and beautifully presented. This spot is definitely worth a visit."
"I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic Hainan chicken rice restaurant, and I couldn't be more delighted with the experience. The Hainan chicken rice here is an absolute delight - it's incredibly flavorful and remarkably fresh. The tender chicken, aromatic rice, and the rich, savory sauce all come together to create a truly unforgettable dish. It's a must-try for anyone who appreciates authentic and delicious Hainan chicken rice. But that's not all; let me tell you about their amazing egg tarts! These little treasures are both affordable and incredibly delicious. I couldn't believe how good they were for the price. The pastry was perfectly flaky, and the custard was smooth and heavenly. They make for the ideal sweet ending to your meal or a delightful snack any time of the day. Overall, this Hainan chicken rice restaurant is a hidden gem, and I can't recommend it enough. If you're looking for mouthwatering Hainan chicken rice and delectable, budget-friendly egg tarts, this place is a must-visit. I'll definitely be back for more of these culinary delights."
"The food was great. Came here for a weekday for lunch. They are not busy at all. They mainly sell claypot rice with 2 choices of meats. There is also an option to choose daily soup or drinks with cheaper prices that came with meals. I think soup around $5 plus and drink $3 plus. After finish, we get to try their Portuguese tarts, which are quite good. Overall, this restaurant is 1 woman show. She did the cashier, cooking and serving to you. I'm not sure about washing dishes. The only things that need improvements are their bowls, have some stains and no paper napkin on tables. Other than that, their dishes are quite good."
"Food was ok but the Portuguese Egg Tart, is worth repeat orders! Thats the menu item that I’m giving that extra star to rate froyo Will add this to my rotation of to-go for groups. Secret favorite… I typically pick up Porto’s Chicken Empanadas and Potato Balls with spicy beef but this is a great alternative depending on proximity or commute route Highly recommend you order in advance and do it through their preferred app, chowbus. I tried to call and also walked in but person working as a cook and handles the counter does not speak English. I didn’t notice the QR codes placed on each table but fortunately had a nice English-speaking patron help me order. To streamline, I asked her to order the best sellers. The restaurant was completely out of cha siu so here’s what I ended up with: Claypot with sausage and cured meat. Claypot with Chicken, mushrooms, and spare ribs. Two variations of the chicken soup with ginseng and emperors herbs. And of course, a box of Portuguese Egg Tarts. In terms of atmosphere, they went for a traditional interior design… see photos below."
"This place takes me back to Hong Kong based on the decor and menu. For 8 people we ordered 5 different bowls, 1 bok choy dish, 1 soup, and multiple egg tarts. For the claypot, you can choose up to 2 different proteins and add additional toppings like a fried egg. - Minced Pork & Preserved Meat Claypot - Mushroom & Chicken Claypot - Beef Brisket Claypot - Char Siu Rice Bowl All the rice dishes were solid, with the best proteins being the minced pork and char siu. Highly recommend doing the minced pork + char siu combo in a claypot! The char siu was succulent and tasty! Given that the main offering are rice dishes, I recommend that this restaurant offers more side dishes or the option to purchase the meat as is. In fact, we ordered another beef brisket bowl but told him to hold the rice. We saw that another lady coming in who wanted just the char siu for takeout but she left because she was told it had to be a rice bowl. The egg tarts are really good here! The pastry is standard but it’s the filling that really takes it over the top. The prices are SO cheap compared to every other restaurant these days. We even ordered more to-go. The total for 6 bowls, 8 egg tarts, 1 veggie, 1 soup, and a drink was $110."
"Food was delicious. We ordered two claypot rice dishes which were both delightful and their Portuguese egg tarts are so good (and an incredible deal)! The service was friendly and comfortable/unrushed."
"This hidden gem tucked in the corner by the elevator in kang kang food court absolutely hit the spot. The rice is so fragrant and the protein on top is delicious. Also, the scorched rice on the bottom of the pot was texture phenomenon! Definitely get the egg tarts before they sell out!!"
"This is a cute little restaurant that mainly serves clay pot rice and steamed soup. I like its casual atmosphere. This is a place where you can grab a quick bite without having to pay a huge tip. The clay pot rice is made to order and you can choose different meat toppings. The soups are also filled with authentic Cantonese soup ingredients. I like that they serve the soups and rice unseasoned, so you can decide how much salt or soy sauce you want to put in. I would recommend giving more veggies and meat so that the clay pot is filled with toppings rather than looking a little empty. Even if the price is a little more expensive, I think the customers would find it more appetizing."
